Watt360 - EV Charger Management SaaS & UX UI Dashboard Design
5,000 Users. 1,000 Owners. One Seamless System to Charge Them All.
The Problem: Charging Chaos in a Growing EV Landscape
Singapore's electric vehicle (EV) adoption is accelerating, with over 5,000 end-users relying daily on the Watt app to find and use EV chargers. But with great user traffic comes great operational responsibility.
Behind the scenes, there are 1,000+ charger station owners (a.k.a. CPOs, short for Charger Point Operators) trying to manage their network, track usage, and make sense of where the money’s going. Meanwhile, system administrators juggle the performance of the entire network.
So what’s the catch?
No real visibility: Owners and admins couldn’t easily see which chargers were in use, broken, or idle.
Hard-to-follow finances: Tracking daily income, performance, and payouts felt like doing taxes… without a calculator.
Too much clicking, too little clarity: People want insight, not an interface that asks too many questions.

Let's delve into the details!
The Mission: Smarter Management, Less Fuss
As the product designer for this project, I had one clear goal:
Make managing EV infrastructure as smooth as charging your Tesla at 2 AM.
We focused on building a system that lets both admins and CPOs:
Track everything in real-time
Get the numbers and statistics
Spend less time clicking and more time doing
This meant creating two smart, focused views:
Admin View: to oversee the entire charging network.
CPO View: for charger owners to monitor performance and revenue station by station.

What We Built: Data Without the Drama
We designed a dashboard that feels like it reads your mind (or at least, your KPIs). Here's how:
Real-time charger monitoring: Know instantly what’s online, in use, or sleeping on the job.
Clean financial overviews: Daily revenue, transaction history, and payout tracking, no digging required.
Interactive map of stations: Because seeing your network is better than reading a table about it.
Minimal-interaction UX: Fast-loading insights with low cognitive load. Just the way busy owners like it.

The Challenges: Real Data, Real People, Real Fast
Designing for a dual-user system in a real-time environment brought a few hurdles:
Simplicity vs. power: CPOs need in-depth data, but not at the cost of usability.
Real-time syncing: Nobody likes outdated numbers, especially when money’s involved.
We worked closely with both types of users, tested rapidly, and refined relentlessly to find the right balance between depth and ease.

The Outcome: Charging Smarter, Not Harder
Today, both admins and 1,000+ charger owners are using the system to:
Spot issues before they become complaints
Track daily performance and earnings in a snap
Make faster, smarter decisions without needing a tutorial first
And the best part? Our 5,000 daily Watt app users benefit from a more reliable, well-maintained EV charging network across Singapore.
This project was a blast to work on. As a product designer, it was especially rewarding to build something that made a real operational impact, and made life easier for people driving the EV revolution forward.
